2020 was a year like no other. Despite all the challenges, we used this year to make adidas a better company.
The #HOMETEAM movement
It was at the start of 2020. Remember the plans we had? But then, all of a sudden, sport and life as we knew them were put on pause, and lives were at risk.
Our sustainability initiatives
Plastic waste is a problem – and its environmental damage has reached a critical level. As a big global company, we have been a big contributor to the problem and that is why our actions need to be equally as big. This is larger than sports, this is for our future.
In 2020, we introduced our newest member of the award-winning Adizero family: the Adizero Adios Pro. The story of the Adizero franchise began in Berlin in 2008, when Haile Gebrselassie broke his own marathon world record and became the first person to run the race in under 2 hours and 4 minutes – wearing the Adizero Adios.
Creating lasting change
2020, we redefined our internal framework with a clear definition of what diversity and inclusion mean to us as a company. They mean championing individual uniqueness, and cultivating a culture of belonging so that everyone can create at their best.
